![]() But it's definitely there in terms of thickness and clarity. But after giving it a few spins over the last two days? I'm finding that the reviews saying it's easy to find a good sound quickly, weren't lying! Comparing this to other programs, in all honestly isn't a huge difference. Like the first go, always seems exciting because you haven't been there before and your senses are primed to overload, no matter what. Though after figuring, eh it's 20 bucks and buying the thing?!! At first I thought I was suffering from cockstruckdom. Royal Yaksman I gotta say, I was very dubious with all the usual, it has this "sound," lamentations that were flying about the web. And I feel that, that is the true sign that you've made a good purchase!!! PS: I have had the joy (?) of utilising the destructive editing feature and was hit by a tsunami of nightmares from my 16 track Tascam digital recording days! Dear god I just want to polish a turd! Why won't you let me polish my faeces!!! Ultimately for 20 bucks? I feel like I ripped them off. The biggest point isn't really the final sound, but how quickly you arrive at that point, that kind of makes the difference. I gotta say, I was very dubious with all the usual, it has this "sound," lamentations that were flying about the web. It has the "Harrison" sound.and the Mixer and EQ's on the Channels areĭifferent, as well as including the Tape Saturation and Limiter on the Master Channel.Īlso, Ardour does not run on refers you to Mixbus for Windows. Mixbus is BUILT on top of Ardour, because Ardour is open source.but it's NOT Ardour, and you're not paying for the has a different working, howbeit somewhat similar. And, btw, there are EQs and Compressors free with Ardour. So this means that if you want to see how a different daw impacts your workflow and creativity, you don't have to pay the $20 USD. ![]() With Ardour on Windows you could use all your Sonar Plugins. Ardour is free and something I have used for more than a 2 years? I know that everyone here is in it for the plugins, but I thought I should point out that this is mostly Ardour. Gswitz Harrison Mixbus is Ardour + inline Plugs. I might be wrong about that but I think it's a Mac thingy. I don't think Jack is full featured for Windows. I'll have to try out the 32-bit version of Jack when I get back to my DAW. ![]() I thought I'd need the 64-bit version of Jack Control since I'm using 64-bit SONAR X3, but maybe that's not the case. Hmm, I'm just now wondering if I need to use the 32-bit version of Jack since Mixbus is 32-bit. (Unless I missed something? Did you have to download and install Jack Control separately too?) However I still cannot get Sonar to recognize any Jack/Mixbus ports and vice-versa. I ended up downloading a separate Jack-only install (Jack_v1.9.9_64_setup.exe) which gave me the "Jack PortAudio" and "Jack Control" applications which didn't come with the Mixbus download. ![]() I've had no luck trying to route audio from Sonar into Mixbus "in-the-box".
